We Feel Connected in Nature

Nature elicits positive emotions, including feeling connected to the world around us, which increases our likelihood to being kind. Studies show that people are more likely to engage in prosocial behavior (empathy, kindness, generosity, and helpfulness) after being exposed to nature. So one effective way to increase our likelihood to being kind is to spend time in nature. Whether it’s going outside into a natural setting, looking at nature scenes, or indoor plants, we can incorporate nature into our lifestyles to feel connected and increase prosocial behavior.
